What accomplishments are you most proud of since entering medical school?
Advocating for Family Medicine at HMS with the FMIG and SLC, testifying for reproductive health rights at the Rhode Island State House, and becoming a mom.
What are you doing now?
I'm finishing up my fourth year of residency!
What are your future plans?
Maternal-Child Health fellowship at the Brown Program in Woonsocket, RI, with the goal of practicing full-spectrum family medicine with OB.
How did you decide that FM was for you?
I went to an FMIG lunch talk on family medicine, and everything clicked! I met the wonderful FMIG members and mentors, and since then, every rotation I did with family physicians felt like home.
What are the most important things that HMS needs to do to support students interested in FM?
More meaningful educational clinical and nonclinical opportunities in Family Medicine- we know and do so much!
What advice do you have for current HMS students about FM?
Your patients are your best teachers and will teach you so much more than you will teach them.
