2020-2021 Alumni

Magnus Mordu Conteh, BSc. Agric. Ed, DMS, MA, MHSc., PGDip

Magnus Conteh Headshot CroppedMagnus is a results oriented and a highly motivated Global Public Health Leader and Specialist, Digital Health, Education and Business Development Strategist and Partnership Practitioner. He possesses extensive experience and expertise working with various programs, Universities and Governmental Agencies in Africa, the UK and Ireland for over 25 years and held a number of senior leadership positions in the National Health Service (NHS) in the UK and the Health Service Executive (HSE) in Ireland. Magnus is an entrepreneurially minded individual that has owned and managed two health services related businesses and led at least two multi-country start-up initiatives. He is passionate about community-centered health systems strengthening in resource poor countries, working with local communities, community health workers and national governments in Africa for social innovation and greater impact on health outcomes.

 

 

Denise Octavia Smith, MBA, CHW, PN

Denise CroppedDenise Octavia is the founding Executive Director of the National Association of Community Health Workers (NACHW) in the US, whose mission is to unify and strengthen CHWs to support communities in achieving health equity and social justice. Mrs. Smith has over 15 years of experience advancing equity, diversity and inclusion in healthcare delivery, prevention and health career pipeline programs. As the Research Associate and Projects Manager for the University of Connecticut Health Disparities Institute (2016-19) Denise managed NIH and CT Health Foundation community-engaged health disparities research to explore the role of racism on African American male health outcomes and a three year initiative to measure and test innovative approaches with CHWs to improve health insurance literacy and health services navigation.

 

 

2019-2020 Alumni

Pascal Fröhlicher, MBA, CHW, PN

pascal fPascal is a consultant, innovator and entrepreneur, focusing on impactful ventures in health. He co-founded and ran a pioneering company providing primary health care in South Africa as well as a business incubator / accelerator, spearheading the social enterprise movement in Africa. As faculty member at Harvard Medical School, he focuses on global health innovation and is a member of the World Economic Forums' Global Future Council on Health and Healthcare.
